Aham Rochas (born 1st march, 1994.[1]) is a Nigerian entrepreneur and philanthropist, He is the eldest son of Rochas Okorocha the Nigerian Senator representing Imo West Senatorial district at the 9th Senate of Nigeria and also the former Governor of Imo State[2].

He is the founder and Managing director of the Aham Rochas group of companies and the President of the Aham Rochas Foundation a non-profit, non-governmental that provides scholarships and free education to the less privileged. He is a member of the board of the Rochas Foundation and the President of Eastern Palm University[3]

Background

Aham is the fourth child and the first son of six kids born to Rochas okorocha and his wife. He is a first class graduate of the University of Manchester with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering[4] and has an MSc in mechanical engineering from the Imperial College London he also attained an MSc in entrepreneurship from the University of Cambridge [5]

Career

Aham is an engineer, an entrepreneur and the managing director of the Aham rochas group a Nigerian based Venture capital and private equity company.[6]

As part of his humanitarian efforts to reduce the number of out of school children displaced by insurgency in Nigeria, Aham Rochas through the Aham Rochas Foundation launched an Emergency Education Program, for Internally Displaced Children (IDPs) in the Federal Capital Territory in 2017.[7]

Death Rumour and Controversy

Following a health issue in 2017 Aham Rochas was rumoured to have slumped and died, necessitating a refutation from his father.[8]

At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic Aham Rochas was criticised by indigenes of Orlu, Imo for providing relief materials to a community in Nasarawa State adjacent to the Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria where he resides.[9]

2015: First class honours in mechanical engineering University of Manchester.[4]

2019: Sir Ahamdu Bello Gamji Hall of Fame by the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in Kaduna State.[10]

2019: The Nigerian Economics Students Association (NESA) Honour[11]

2021: Coalition of Northern Nigerian Ethnic Youth Leaders award of Humanitarian Service and Nation Building for excellence and visionary leadership[12]
